1. Who we are
These terms apply to vehicle inspection services provided by RevXpress LTD, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17053053), whose address is 16 Waters Road, Kingston Upon Thames, KT1 3LP (“RevXpress”, “we”, “us”). You can contact us at info@revxpress.co.uk or on 020 3819 6799.
By booking an inspection you agree to these terms. If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
2. What we do
2.1 We carry out non-intrusive inspections of used vehicles at the location the customer gives us. Depending on the package booked, this includes visual checks, an OBD2 diagnostic scan, a road test and a written report with photos.
2.2 The exact checks included in each package are listed on our website at the time of booking. We only inspect the items included in the package you book.
2.3 Our inspectors are experienced in vehicle inspection. Our inspection is an independent opinion of the vehicle’s condition on the day. It is not an MOT test, a manufacturer or dealer diagnostic, an engineer’s report, a vehicle valuation or a vehicle history check.
3. What our report is, and is not
3.1 The report is a snapshot. It records the condition of the vehicle as found by our inspector at the date and time of the inspection, under the conditions on the day.
3.2 The report is not a warranty or guarantee. We do not guarantee the future condition, performance, reliability or roadworthiness of any vehicle, and we do not predict future faults.
3.3 Faults we cannot be expected to find. Some faults cannot reasonably be detected in a non-intrusive inspection. We are not responsible for:
- faults that develop or appear after the inspection;
- intermittent faults that are not present, do not show symptoms, or do not store a fault code during the inspection;
- faults that have been deliberately concealed, or fault codes and warning lights cleared before the inspection;
- the internal condition of the engine, gearbox, clutch, transmission or other components that can only be assessed by dismantling them;
- areas that could not be safely accessed or seen, which we will note in the report where practical;
- normal wear and tear, or the remaining life of parts such as tyres, brakes, clutches and batteries, which can only be estimated;
- anything outside the checks included in the package you booked.
3.4 MOT. Our inspection is not an MOT test. We do not certify that a vehicle will pass its next MOT, and we are not responsible if a vehicle later fails an MOT or receives advisories.
3.5 History and documents. Unless your package or an extra you book includes a vehicle history check (see section 3.8), we do not verify the vehicle’s history, mileage, ownership, number of previous keepers, outstanding finance, write-off status, stolen status or recalls. We recommend a history check alongside our inspection.
3.6 Your decision. The decision to buy a vehicle, and at what price, is yours. The report is one source of information to help you decide.
3.7 Legal proceedings. Our reports are prepared to help you make a buying decision. They are not prepared for court proceedings, insurance disputes or warranty claims and are not expert witness reports.
3.8 Official records and vehicle history checks.
- Official records. Every report includes information from the DVLA and the DVSA MOT history, such as MOT results, recorded mileage, tax status and whether the vehicle was imported. We show this as the DVLA and DVSA provide it, and we use it to point out things worth checking.
- History checks. Where your package or an extra you book includes a vehicle history check, we obtain it from a licensed third-party data provider using the vehicle’s registration and, where available, its VIN. It reports what is recorded at the time of the check on databases such as finance company records, the insurance industry’s write-off register (VS&TD, formerly MIAFTR), police stolen-vehicle records and DVLA keeper records. The number of previous keepers is the number of registered keepers. It does not tell you who they were.
- What this information cannot do. We do not create or control these records and cannot guarantee they are complete, accurate or up to date. Some events are never recorded. For example, damage repaired privately without an insurance claim does not appear as a write-off, and finance can be taken out or settled after the check. A history check is accurate only for the date and time it was run, so we recommend running one again just before you pay.
- Our responsibility. We are responsible for showing you the results accurately and with reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss caused by mistakes or gaps in DVLA, DVSA or third-party records. Where a data provider offers its own guarantee, it is given by the provider under its own terms, not by us.
- Cancelling. A history check is supplied as soon as it is run. If you cancel after we have run it, we may keep the price of the history check, or a fair amount for it if it is included in your package.
4. Booking and payment
4.1 You can book through our website, by phone or on WhatsApp. Payment is taken in full when you book, through Square or another payment method we accept. A booking is confirmed once we email you a confirmation.
4.2 The price you pay is the price shown when you book. Prices may change for future bookings.
4.3 Seller’s permission. You must make sure the seller agrees to the inspection and, if your package includes one, to a road test. You must give us accurate details of the vehicle, its location and the seller’s contact details.
5. Your right to cancel
5.1 14-day right to cancel. If you book online, by phone or by WhatsApp as a consumer, you have the legal right to cancel within 14 days of the day you book, without giving a reason.
5.2 If the inspection takes place within 14 days. Most customers want their inspection quickly. When you book, you will be asked to confirm that you want us to carry out the inspection within the 14-day cancellation period. If you do:
- you lose the right to cancel once the inspection has been fully carried out;
- if your booking includes a vehicle history check, you lose the right to cancel that part once the check has been run (see section 3.8);
- if you cancel after we have started but before we have finished, you must pay a fair amount for the work done up to that point.
5.3 How to cancel. Email info@revxpress.co.uk or call 020 3819 6799, giving your name, booking date and vehicle registration. You can use the model cancellation form below, but you do not have to.
5.4 Refunds. We refund you within 14 days of your cancellation, using the payment method you used to book.
5.5 Late cancellations: no refund. When you book, we reserve an inspector’s time for you and turn away other bookings for that slot. So, if you have asked for your inspection to take place within the 14-day cancellation period, the full price is non-refundable if:
- you cancel less than 24 hours before the inspection; or
- you booked an inspection for the same day or the next day, whenever you cancel; or
- our inspector arrives and cannot carry out the inspection because the vehicle is not there, the seller refuses, or access is not possible.
This does not affect any rights you have by law that cannot be excluded.
5.6 If we cancel. If we have to cancel or cannot attend, we will offer another time or a full refund.

6. Road tests
6.1 Road tests are only carried out where included in your package, with the seller’s permission, and where it is safe and legal to do so.
6.2 Our inspector may refuse to drive a vehicle that appears unsafe, unroadworthy, untaxed, or where the conditions make a road test unsafe. If this happens, we will complete the rest of the inspection and note this in the report. This does not entitle you to a refund of the road-test element unless no part of the road test could reasonably be completed.
6.3 Our inspectors drive with appropriate motor trade insurance.
7. Our liability to you
7.1 We will carry out the inspection with reasonable care and skill. If we fail to do so, you can ask us to put it right or, if that is not possible, to give you a full or partial refund.
7.2 We are only responsible for loss that results from our failure to use reasonable care and skill, and that was a foreseeable result of that failure. We are not responsible for faults described in section 3.3 or the matters in sections 3.4 and 3.5, or for mistakes or gaps in the records described in section 3.8.
7.3 Our total liability to you for any claim arising from an inspection is limited to the price you paid for that inspection.
7.4 We are not liable for any loss of profit, loss of business, or indirect or consequential loss.
7.5 Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law.
8. Complaints
If you are unhappy with an inspection, please contact us within 14 days of receiving the report at info@revxpress.co.uk, so we can look into it while the vehicle’s condition is still known. We aim to respond within 5 working days.
9. General
9.1 We may update these terms. The terms in force when you book apply to that booking.
9.2 These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may bring proceedings in your local courts.
9.3 If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest remains in force.
